Remember,
“They” want you to get into impossible positions. “I” train your body to get into those positions.
Flexibility may be your single biggest issue or just a small portion of the weaknesses you face today. Maybe stamina is a small issue, yet strength loss is a major factor. It could be just one thing or any combination of things that work together against your game.
This single principle indicates certain exercises are of greater benefit to the golfer than others. Generally speaking, the exercises should focus on developing your body to the positions, movements, and physical requirements of the golf swing. This equates to exercises developing the required flexibility, balance, endurance, strength, and power required of the golf swing. For example, we are fully aware the golf swing requires you to make a full shoulder turn.
A portion of the ability to make a full shoulder turn is contingent upon the golfer’s flexibility. If you are lacking flexibility the ability to make a full shoulder turn, the golf swing will be compromised, and compensations may set into your golf swing. That being said, a portion of your golf fitness exercises, specifically your golf flexibility exercises will focus on developing a full and effortless shoulder turn.
The goal of the golf fitness program is to develop your body around the golf swing in order to create a more powerful, consistent, and accurate golf swing.
Simple put…
Together, will fix your body and the swing faults will take care themselves.
Many of us have been told by health care professionals that we need to exercise for reasons ranging from weight loss to improving bone density but seem to lack motivation. Well, here is your solution. Now you have a golf fitness program that will increase your strength, your flexibility and will not be counterproductive to your golf game.
Take the initial Step?
An initial physical evaluation is performed. What was once only available to the top PGA and LPGA touring professionals is now available to you. You are placed through a complete array of tests usually reserved for the best golfers in the world this evaluation will identify your physical deficits, however small. Your range of motion, strength, balance and flexibility are tested extensively. Once this evaluation is completed, you will have an understanding which physical limitations are directly affecting your performance. It is important to note that a swing fault directly related to a physical limitation cannot be corrected until the limitation is corrected first.
Ex. If you lack core strength to control the pelvic on the downswing, you are more likely to early extend, or have an improper kinematic sequence on the downswing, causing over the top, casting, cupping, and chicken wing. This is robbing you of power and distance.
